When you need this form

Childcare rooms and school blocks are cleaned daily against a fixed scope: cots and mats, nappy change areas, toilets, drink stations, classroom touchpoints and playgrounds. Parents, principals and centre directors ask what was done and when, especially during a gastro outbreak. Infection control depends on the frequency being real, and child-safe practice means knowing exactly who was in the building.

A signed sheet on a clipboard tells a director very little. A live log shows the room, the time it was cleaned, the products used and a photo of the finished space, tied to the person who did it. When an outbreak triggers questions or a term audit lands, the answer is a filtered history rather than a folder search.

What good looks like

• Every room or area listed, with tasks ticked as completed.
• Nappy change and toilet areas recorded separately from general cleaning.
• Sanitiser or product used noted for high-risk surfaces.
• Exceptions flagged: room in use, area locked, task deferred.
• Cleaner sign-off with the time the round finished.
